Manager, People Operations & Culture

Position Summary:
In this role, you will work closely with our Founder & CEO, Senior Advisor Strategy & Operations, Talent Acquisition Manager, and the outsourced Accounting, IT and HR strategy partners to help scale processes, create efficiencies, and continue to enhance the culture of Browne Consulting Group. You will manage a wide range of duties pertaining to the day-to-day operations of the people function (including benefits administration, employee engagement, employee relations, well-being, onboarding/offboarding, leaves, policies and procedures, annual reviews, compensation, and training) through self and one Generalist.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a consultative approach that applies HR and business knowledge, precedence, and terrific intuition to diagnose and provide creative HR solutions that align with our people and operational goals
  • Offer expertise and one-on-one employee support in the following areas: performance management, employee relations, coaching, compensation, career development and disciplinary action
  • Manage general day-to-day people operations (ultimate responsibility for benefits administration and compliance, compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, HRIS administration and upkeep, leave of absence administration, employee engagement, etc.)
  • Responsible for changes and audits of employee files including accuracy and maintenance; processing terminations; recommending improvements to employee-related policies
  • Manage and continuously enhance the full employee experience
  • Help develop, enhance, revise, and implement HR policies, practices and procedures for managers, teams and individual employees that further the mission, values and strategic vision of the business
  • Continuously refining and facilitating an innovative, and welcoming new employee orientation and first-day experience for new team members
  • Responsible for coordination of mandated training, benefits enrollment, and annual performance and compensation review process
  • Provide communication to stakeholders when company projects and policies are created, revised or modified
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with leaders and employees to be seen as the trusted advisor and partner to leaders to carry out company-wide people strategies and programs
  • Mentor, develop and guide direct reports for personal growth
  • Stay up to date on HR regulations, employment law, HR trends, and technology.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 10+ years of progressive people operations/HR experience
  • 2+ years of direct people management experience
  • Willingness and ability to be onsite 1-2 days per week
  • Proficient experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS Teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally to achieve results
  • Ability to foster and create an environment of collaboration
  • Ability to quickly build rapport and establish trust
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Desire to continuously learn while also sharing knowledge and mentoring others
  • Ability to drive data-based decisions and business justifications
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational, attention to detail, and time-management skills
  • HR certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)
  • HRIS system experience required – experience with Paylocity highly preferred
  • 2+ years of professional service firm experience preferred
