Prior to joining Browne Consulting, Connor worked at RSM auditing various industries including software, green energy, and life sciences. He believes his greatest asset “has been helping clients prepare for audits as I can provide a unique perspective. I know what auditors tend to focus on the most and where our clients can improve their accounting/financial reporting procedures. I also work hard to ensure smooth and efficient monthly closes which in turn also leads to an easier audit.”

  • Q: What attribute would you rank as number one for professional success?
  • A: Being adaptive. In my experience in the professional world, things often don’t go to plan, so you have to be able to constantly adapt in order to solve problems when they arise. Specifically, in my day-to-day, some examples include being able to adapt my schedule to be available for my clients when they need me and being able to adapt to constant changes in monthly close procedures to improve efficiency and minimize errors.
  • Q: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
  • A: Be confident in yourself and always keep an open mind!
  • Q: What are you passionate about outside of work?
  • A: Boston sports, especially the Celtics! And I love traveling! I try to go on one big trip every year. My favorite trips were visiting Iceland in 2019 and Dubai in 2021. And I might try baking soon. The knowledge and attention to detail required to be a good baker mixed with the creativity you can express in your bakes make for a very rewarding and fun skill to learn.

Mark Mele, CPA, MSA

Controller

Mark Mele brings over eight years of accounting and finance experience to Browne Consulting Group. Mark joined our team as a Controller, and now leads a team of one overseeing several newer clients who eagerly await their next significant R&D milestones. His areas of expertise are operational accounting, audit/tax preparation and support, accounting system implementation, management/investor financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts.

Prior to Browne Consulting Group, Mark worked at RSM in the Assurance practice serving clients in the renewable energy, manufacturing, and construction industries. After RSM, Mark worked at Cambridge Health Alliance as an Accounting Manager.

Q: What is your favorite quote or mantra, and why?

A: “Be a goldfish” – Ted Lasso

According to Ted Lasso, the happiest animal on Earth is a goldfish because it has a ten second memory. While one should learn from their mistakes, there is no need to dwell on them. Learn and move on.

Q: What are you passionate about outside of work?

A: I play in numerous recreational sports leagues.
