As Director of Operations and Client Onboarding at Browne Consulting, Dan Goddard leads our onboarding team and serves as a crucial point of contact for our newest clients, ensuring their smooth transition and ongoing satisfaction. With over 18 years of experience in accounting and finance, Dan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team.

Throughout his career, Dan has developed strong partnerships with our clients, their investors, and vendors to provide guidance in critical areas of company creation. His areas of expertise encompass a wide range of domains, including financial systems and operations, budgeting, employee compensation and benefits, IT, organizational design, strategic planning, corporate communications, investor relations, insurance, process improvement, and entrepreneurship. Dan can offer comprehensive and tailored solutions to address the unique challenges our clients face.

What sets Dan apart is his unique background in both the venture side and hands-on involvement with portfolio companies in the life science industry. Having served as an early member of multiple portfolio companies, he possesses firsthand insight into the intricacies and challenges faced by businesses in their earliest phases. This experience allows him to provide practical and strategic guidance that drives organizational success.

Prior to Browne Consulting, Dan served as the Manager of Financial Operations at Micro-Leads, Operations Manager at Akili Interactive Labs, Operations and Finance Manager of Nortek Group USA, and Manager of Operations and Finance at PureTech Health.

Mark Mele, CPA, MSA

Controller

Mark Mele brings over eight years of accounting and finance experience to Browne Consulting Group. Mark joined our team as a Controller, and now leads a team of one overseeing several newer clients who eagerly await their next significant R&D milestones. His areas of expertise are operational accounting, audit/tax preparation and support, accounting system implementation, management/investor financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts.

Prior to Browne Consulting Group, Mark worked at RSM in the Assurance practice serving clients in the renewable energy, manufacturing, and construction industries. After RSM, Mark worked at Cambridge Health Alliance as an Accounting Manager.

Q: What is your favorite quote or mantra, and why?

A: “Be a goldfish” – Ted Lasso

According to Ted Lasso, the happiest animal on Earth is a goldfish because it has a ten second memory. While one should learn from their mistakes, there is no need to dwell on them. Learn and move on.

Q: What are you passionate about outside of work?

A: I play in numerous recreational sports leagues.
