Kim Devore brings over 15 years of operational HR experience to Browne Consulting. As the Associate Director, HR Kim leads a small but mighty team and has been involved with all Browne Consulting initiatives. Working as an operational HR partner in the retail, food manufacturing, pharmacy, FinTech, and now startup industries, Kim is grateful for every past obstacle, challenge, and achievement in preparation for this role with Browne Consulting.

  • Q: What has been the most exciting challenge of your professional career thus far?
  • A: Joining a startup! When I accepted this opportunity to join as an HR team of one, it was terrifying! But this time has been the most rewarding part of my career to date. We are all pulling the rope in the same direction, everyone is thoughtful, and we’re all here to be a part of a thriving business that is helping life science startups.
  • Q: What's your favorite quote or mantra? And why?
  • A: My grandmother used to say, “It is what it is,” and I loved how simple, sweet, and true that was. However, today, I say, “Life is what you make it.”
  • Q: What are you passionate about outside of work?
  • A: Feeding the pollinators and educating others about the importance of biodiversity. It’s also a fancy way of saying – I love to garden and am fortunate to have a huge garden and an amazing of neighbors that ask a ton of questions.

Mark Mele, CPA, MSA

Controller

Mark Mele brings over eight years of accounting and finance experience to Browne Consulting Group. Mark joined our team as a Controller, and now leads a team of one overseeing several newer clients who eagerly await their next significant R&D milestones. His areas of expertise are operational accounting, audit/tax preparation and support, accounting system implementation, management/investor financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts.

Prior to Browne Consulting Group, Mark worked at RSM in the Assurance practice serving clients in the renewable energy, manufacturing, and construction industries. After RSM, Mark worked at Cambridge Health Alliance as an Accounting Manager.

Q: What is your favorite quote or mantra, and why?

A: “Be a goldfish” – Ted Lasso

According to Ted Lasso, the happiest animal on Earth is a goldfish because it has a ten second memory. While one should learn from their mistakes, there is no need to dwell on them. Learn and move on.

Q: What are you passionate about outside of work?

A: I play in numerous recreational sports leagues.
