Laura Langner

Laura Langner brings over 16 years of accounting and finance experience to Browne Consulting. She joined Browne Consulting as a Controller, and now leads a team of two. She has advised clients on a variety of accounting matters such as audit preparation and support, budgeting, budget to actuals, and forecasting including cash runway, and long-range planning. She has also guided clients through operational matters such as HR and payroll matters, corporate and health insurance renewals, systems implementations, and developing processes and policies. Many of Laura’s clients are in the clinical trial stage.

Prior to Browne Consulting, Laura worked at two different non-profit organizations leading their accounting department and began her career with Grant Thornton.

Mark Mele, CPA, MSA

Controller

Mark Mele brings over eight years of accounting and finance experience to Browne Consulting Group. Mark joined our team as a Controller, and now leads a team of one overseeing several newer clients who eagerly await their next significant R&D milestones. His areas of expertise are operational accounting, audit/tax preparation and support, accounting system implementation, management/investor financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts.

Prior to Browne Consulting Group, Mark worked at RSM in the Assurance practice serving clients in the renewable energy, manufacturing, and construction industries. After RSM, Mark worked at Cambridge Health Alliance as an Accounting Manager.

Q: What is your favorite quote or mantra, and why?

A: “Be a goldfish” – Ted Lasso

According to Ted Lasso, the happiest animal on Earth is a goldfish because it has a ten second memory. While one should learn from their mistakes, there is no need to dwell on them. Learn and move on.

Q: What are you passionate about outside of work?

A: I play in numerous recreational sports leagues.
