Prior to joining Browne Consulting, Maggie gained valuable experience as an audit senior, who spent 4 years in public accounting. She focused on serving clients in the private equity, hedge fund and fund-of-fund space. She managed and led the audits which included training other members of her teams and performing robust risk assessment procedures. She carried out in depth analyses of the investment portfolios and private company valuations for the purpose of evaluating the fair value measurements. After building a strong foundation over the past four years, she is looking forward to working in the life science industry.

Mark Mele, CPA, MSA

Controller

Mark Mele brings over eight years of accounting and finance experience to Browne Consulting Group. Mark joined our team as a Controller, and now leads a team of one overseeing several newer clients who eagerly await their next significant R&D milestones. His areas of expertise are operational accounting, audit/tax preparation and support, accounting system implementation, management/investor financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts.

Prior to Browne Consulting Group, Mark worked at RSM in the Assurance practice serving clients in the renewable energy, manufacturing, and construction industries. After RSM, Mark worked at Cambridge Health Alliance as an Accounting Manager.

Q: What is your favorite quote or mantra, and why?

A: “Be a goldfish” – Ted Lasso

According to Ted Lasso, the happiest animal on Earth is a goldfish because it has a ten second memory. While one should learn from their mistakes, there is no need to dwell on them. Learn and move on.

Q: What are you passionate about outside of work?

A: I play in numerous recreational sports leagues.
