Mark joins Browne Consulting with 2 years of accounting experience. Prior to Browne Consulting Group, Mark was a Senior in the FSO Assurance Practice at Ernst & Young in Boston MA. At EY he primarily worked with 2 clients in the insurance industry helping them issue their year-end financial and annual operational SOC statements. Mark joined Browne Consulting to gain insight and knowledge about a blooming industry such as life science. “I am passionate about making the world a better place and I am trying to do my part by making the lives of scientists and researchers easier by continually learning about and performing the best accounting and business process practices in the life sciences industry.”

Mark Mele, CPA, MSA

Controller

Mark Mele brings over eight years of accounting and finance experience to Browne Consulting Group. Mark joined our team as a Controller, and now leads a team of one overseeing several newer clients who eagerly await their next significant R&D milestones. His areas of expertise are operational accounting, audit/tax preparation and support, accounting system implementation, management/investor financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts.

Prior to Browne Consulting Group, Mark worked at RSM in the Assurance practice serving clients in the renewable energy, manufacturing, and construction industries. After RSM, Mark worked at Cambridge Health Alliance as an Accounting Manager.

Q: What is your favorite quote or mantra, and why?

A: “Be a goldfish” – Ted Lasso

According to Ted Lasso, the happiest animal on Earth is a goldfish because it has a ten second memory. While one should learn from their mistakes, there is no need to dwell on them. Learn and move on.

Q: What are you passionate about outside of work?

A: I play in numerous recreational sports leagues.
