Nicholas Gargano

Nicholas Gargano brings five years of accounting experience to Browne Consulting where he advises clients in various operational accounting matters, including audit preparation and audit support. Nick shares, “I love working closely alongside startups that are working on solving some of the world’s hardest problems and playing a small role in helping them achieve their goals. I chose to work in the life science industry because I wanted to work with passionate people who work extremely hard to treat and cure diseases that affect everyone around us.” Prior to joining Browne Consulting, Nick worked at CLA in a mixture of Transaction Services and Audit with clients from the healthcare industry.

Mark Mele, CPA, MSA

Controller

Mark Mele brings over eight years of accounting and finance experience to Browne Consulting Group. Mark joined our team as a Controller, and now leads a team of one overseeing several newer clients who eagerly await their next significant R&D milestones. His areas of expertise are operational accounting, audit/tax preparation and support, accounting system implementation, management/investor financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts.

Prior to Browne Consulting Group, Mark worked at RSM in the Assurance practice serving clients in the renewable energy, manufacturing, and construction industries. After RSM, Mark worked at Cambridge Health Alliance as an Accounting Manager.

Q: What is your favorite quote or mantra, and why?

A: “Be a goldfish” – Ted Lasso

According to Ted Lasso, the happiest animal on Earth is a goldfish because it has a ten second memory. While one should learn from their mistakes, there is no need to dwell on them. Learn and move on.

Q: What are you passionate about outside of work?

A: I play in numerous recreational sports leagues.
