  • Q. Why did you choose to work in the life science industry?
  • A: I have unfortunately had degenerative diseases affect many of my loved ones. Although I know nothing about the specific science of these new medicines, I’m very happy to be utilizing my skill set to support these organizations that are making a huge difference for those that really need it.
  • Q: What do you like about working for Browne and/or your clients?
  • A: I enjoy the versatility of client work. I am always seeing something different and learning new skills every single day. At my age and professional tier, it is incredibly important to continue to learn in a professional environment.
  • Q: What are you passionate about outside of work?
  • A: I really enjoy breaking my personal records in strength training and rock climbing, as well as playing piano and drums whenever I get the chance.

Mark Mele, CPA, MSA

Controller

Mark Mele brings over eight years of accounting and finance experience to Browne Consulting Group. Mark joined our team as a Controller, and now leads a team of one overseeing several newer clients who eagerly await their next significant R&D milestones. His areas of expertise are operational accounting, audit/tax preparation and support, accounting system implementation, management/investor financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts.

Prior to Browne Consulting Group, Mark worked at RSM in the Assurance practice serving clients in the renewable energy, manufacturing, and construction industries. After RSM, Mark worked at Cambridge Health Alliance as an Accounting Manager.

Q: What is your favorite quote or mantra, and why?

A: “Be a goldfish” – Ted Lasso

According to Ted Lasso, the happiest animal on Earth is a goldfish because it has a ten second memory. While one should learn from their mistakes, there is no need to dwell on them. Learn and move on.

Q: What are you passionate about outside of work?

A: I play in numerous recreational sports leagues.
